Congratulations to our Exhibitors, Sponsors & Members
Our 2009 event proved to be another successful year!
The WRICA Careers & Employment Expo which was held on Thursday 14th & Friday 15th May 2009 provided a huge opportunity for students, parents & community members to experience a wide array of career and course options.
Attendance has been estimated at approximately 7,500, including schools, parents, community groups and general public from both Wyndham & Hobsons Bay regions. Parents and young people from outside our regions also attended. This was the first time an evening session was introduced at this venue and although much quieter than the day sessions it still proved to be a great success, one that we intend to build on. This session gave community members, parents and young people a chance to receive quality information on a one to one basis. The evening session also kept our Career Advisors busy with many clients taking up the opportunity to receive Career Counselling. The positive feedback from schools, parents and exhibitors has highlighted the need to continue with the evening session which we are confident will grow.
Our event was officially launched by our Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Cr. Shane Bourke Mayor of Wyndham City Council and Barry Harvey Chair of WynBay LLEN. WRICA were privileged to have received an official endorsement from Julia (Deputy Prime Minister) which you can view on the WRICA website.
The WRICA Careers & Employment Expo continues to be strongly supported by the Wyndham City Council, who is our Platinum Sponsor. Gold Sponsors included Lithocraft, University of Ballarat, LinFox, Werribee/Point Cook Banner, Victoria University and Defence Force Recruiting. Silver Sponsors were Harry the Hirer, The University of Adelaide, City West Water, Wyndham Leisure & Events and NDCO. Bronze Sponsors included and Australian Technical College Sunshine, WynBay LLEN, Gordon Institute, William Angliss and WISE Employment.
Exhibitor attendance has continued to grow and again has been the largest contingent yet so a big THANKYOU for all your hard work and support. This year's introduction to an evening session made for a very long day and we appreciated your efforts in representing your organisation by providing up-to-date quality information and that you remained for the entirety of every session including the evening. Your diligence and thoughtfulness shows respect and support for our event, our patrons and fellow exhibitors. Thank you to those who completed and returned our evaluation. Your feedback is appreciated especially as your comments where so positive, as was the feedback from students, parents, schools & community. This has also allowed WRICA to discuss suggestions for continued improvement in providing quality and informative event in a safe and comfortable environment.
Please check our website to view exhibitor comments and photos taken over the two days, you may see yourself in one or two.
