Endorsement from the Honourable Julia Gillard, Prime Minister I am pleased to provide my continued support to the Wyndham / Hobson's Bay Region Incorporated Careers Association Careers and Employment Expo. This remarkable event began 14 years ago in a simple school corridor. It has now grown into the biggest Careers and Employment Expo in Western Victoria, showcasing employment pathways from our High Schools to the workplace. The Expo comes at important time in Australia's economic cycle. Having successfully weathered a difficult economic period, our nation has entered a new era of workforce participation and prosperity. Job creation is up and unemployment is down. The future looks bright for young people seeking to begin their careers. In the current climate, there is a shortage of skills, particularly in the trades. So this Expo presents a great opportunity for all attendees to ask questions and explore employment possibilities. In a strong Labor economy, we can consider what job options best suit our interests and talents. I congratulate all the members of the Association, and its sponsors. The growth of the Expo is a testament to the commitment of the members and sponsors that have worked so tirelessly to establish the event. In particular, I congratulate Debbie Gray and Graham Long, who have worked so hard on this event. I expect that the Expo will once again be a great success. Julia Gillard Prime Minister Federal Member for Lalor
